Resumé
Martin is an Arboriculturalist, Horticulturalist and Landscape Designer, with 24 years of professional experience in tree and landscape management. He has worked in both the public and private sectors of the industry in the UK and Australia, on a wide variety of projects.
Martin has also worked in the education and training sector of the industry, teaching Arboricultural Skills at Certificate level and Urban Woodland Management at Higher National Diploma level, at Houghall College of Agriculture and Horticulture in the UK.
As a former member of the UK Arboricultural Association Martin has been involved in a number of community programs promoting the benefits of trees and woodlands to the general public.
Since moving to Australia in 2005 Martin has operated his own Arboricultural and Horticultural consultancy business, Martin Peacock Tree Care.
In 2009 Martin successfully completed his BSc (hons.) in Arboriculture through the University of Central Lancashire’s on line study program. For his thesis Martin conducted a novel research trial with the support of the Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney, Plant Pathology Unit, to investigate the efficacy of bio fungicides for the inhibition of wood decay pathogens in trees. In addition to operating his business, Martin is continuing with his research work at the Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney, and is currently engaged in a long-term field trial, which expands upon his thesis subject.
